The Lion King at Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre

Disney’s The Lion King shares the struggles of the little lion cub Simba, who before his time has no choice but to accept his fate of leading as the King of the Pride Lands due to the tragedy that befalls his father, Mufasa. Mufasa, who is a supported King by all of the Pride Lands, suffers betrayal from from Scar, Simba’s uncle, which leaves Simba without a father. This forces the lion cub into into exile for years, and this is where Simba's personal change and his subsequent return to The Pride Lands and his seat on the throne.

Based off the original 1994 film of the the very same name released by Disney, The Lion King was accurately translated to the Broadway platform by director Julie Taymor and the awesome cast and creative team. Its premiere in 1997 was a testament to its success, being lauded by fans at the time.
