The Sound of Music tickets

It is chock-full of some of the most well-known songs in the world, and has been teaching the world to sing since 1959. Completely defying its age, it is still the beautiful romantic intrigue, still the nostalgic tale about prevailing, still the magical theatrical experience it was back then, and will continue to be all of that and more for countless years to come.

Everybody that has ever sang along to ’So Long, Farewell’, enjoyed the delightful ‘Do-Re-Mi’, and were totally enchanted by ‘Edelweiss’, and even those who are bigger misanthropes than Captain Von Trapp before he meets Maria, will be over the moon with the news we have: ‘The Sound Of Music’ is finally back on the road, and will be bringing the music to Colorado in 2026! Ever since Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, alongside esteemed playwrights Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, created ‘The Sound Of Music’, it became clear that it has been destined for international success.

No musical can equal ‘The Sound Of Music’ when it comes to the amount of adored and well-known numbers; a production that can remain as relevant and cherished for nearly seven decades as ‘The Sound Of Music’ does not exist; and a tale as wonderful, yet filled with major social issues, is yet to be created.

No other musical has been revisited as many times, had more performances around the globe, and has been received with as much triumph as ‘The Sound Of Music’. Since its premiere in 1959, it has received five Tony Awards, a Theatre World Award, and an Outer Critics Circle Special Award, alongside plenty of nominations. ‘The Sound Of Music’ has also been adapted into an award-winning film that has been enjoyed all around the globe for generations.

‘The Sound Of Music’, inspired by the 1949 memoir of Maria von Trapp, follows the tale of Maria, a free-spirited nun, who takes on the massive task as governess for Captain Georg von Trapp’s seven children, and brings much love, happiness, and of course, music, back to the family. The family is faced with many obstacles - from the threat the annexation of Austria into Nazi Germany to the romance brewing between Captain von Trapp - an engaged-to-be-married man, and Maria, who vowed to remain a nun.

The truth is that there is plenty to love about ‘The Sound Of Music’: from the incredible professionalism of the oldest nun right down to the youngest Von Trapp child, to the timeless, wonderful music that you’ll remember for years to come; from the glorious orchestral delivery to the gorgeous sets that float effortlessly from a grey cathedral to the old Austrian splendour of the Von Trapp house; from the heartwarming tale about overcoming difficulty and heartwarming tale of love, resilience, and music to the powerhouse cast that carries their roles with excellence, delivers the music with command, and steals hearts from the get-go.

They were right: the world is indeed alive with ‘The Sound Of Music’.
