Ahhhh - another Broadway night lighting up the early Spring lights here in the Buell, another special night in downtown Denver with us and all of the crew! So y’all ready to get classic with a night of the classics with our Theatre crew?? In one of ‘Rado’s most iconic theatre spaces - The Buell boys are bringing Meredith Wilson’s The Music Man to our stage on Sunday March 1st for a night of True American treasures on their 2026 national tour - bridging the old school Broadway charm to the newest generation for some infectious feel good energy while tip toeing into the nostalgia of the past for audiences all across the globe - from NYC to the Pacific Coast! But this Denver show?! It’s the one we’re excited about the most! The tour has been making its way EVERYWHERE lately and through major cities nationwide, reminding theatre-goers new and old why people love the old musical tune! With an insane ensemble planned in their new iteration and colorful small-town storytelling, and songs that seem to live permanently in our collective memory, The Music Man continues to prove that some stories never go out of style - and when it comes to stories ‘bout home, well, we’re always gonna sing that song and bring our friends along!
Originally premiering on Broadway in 1957, The Music Man quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Written by composer and lyricist Meredith Willson, the musical tells the story of Harold Hill, a fast-talking traveling salesman who arrives in River City, Iowa with big promises, bigger charm, and a plan that’s… slightly less than honest. What begins as a con slowly transforms into something deeper, as Hill finds himself unexpectedly changed by the people he intended to deceive — especially the town’s steadfast librarian, Marian Paroo. Packed with soundtracks to our youth like “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Trouble,” and “’Til There Was You,” the show captures the spirit of small-town America, celebrating community, hope, and the idea that music — even when it starts as a trick — has the power to bring people together. Its legacy has only grown over time, earning multiple Tony Awards, revivals, and a permanent place in Broadway history. And THAT folks is why we have to see it live, right here for primetime!
So y’all - grab your friends and let’s get all the theatre heads we know that love stories and that classics - The Music Man is here, and we’ll see you at Buell for the best iteration of the play!
