THE PLOT
Whoville is packed with cheery folks. Everytime Christmas comes around, the town becomes bustling with life with people exchanging gifts and getting ready for the festivities to come. This hustle and bustle creates extra noise that echoes into the mountains, where the grumpy and socially reluctant creature, the Grinch lives. This time, the noise is much louder than usual so he has had enough. The Grinch decides to ruin Christmas this season by disguising himself as Santa. A little girl Cindy Lou befriends him and this encounter poses as an obstacle to his sinister plans. Will the Grinch become successful in ruining Christmas for everybody? Based on the 1957 children’s storybook by Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas features a book and lyrics by playwright Timothy Mason with music by Mel Marvin. The production will feature breathtaking costumes by Robert Morgan with stunning set design from John Lee Beatty. The brand new production is totally refreshed with direction from Matt August, based on the original direction by Tony winning director Jack O Brien. The performances will also feature a truly dynamic choreography from Bob Richard, based on the original choreography from John De Luca.
